MMCA Annual Fall Meeting

By

The Michigan Mason Contractors' Association (MMCA) held its annual fall meeting Sept. 10-12, 2004 at Crystal Mountain Resort in Thompsonville, Mich. Beautiful weather enabled them to hold an outdoor reception Friday night.

The general membership meeting and Board of Director election were held Saturday morning. Rick Cianek, Dale Haselhuhn, Brad Leidal and Kevin Ryan were re-elected for two-year terms on the Board.

During the meeting, Tony Darkangelo of the Masonry Institute of Michigan (MIM) and the MMCA representative to the Masonry Executive's Council, presented the MasonrySystems.org program as well as an update of MIM activities. Ed Boettcher discussed the MCAA Masonry Showcase pairing with the Construction Specifiers Institute in Chicago and encouraged member attendance at the larger show.

During the MMCA Board of Directors meeting, a second election was held to elect officers. Kevin Ryan was elected Chairman, Brad Leidal, Vice Chairman and Ray Bostwick, Secretary-Treasurer.

Later Saturday, members and their guests enjoyed golf on the Betsie Valley course or canoeing the Platte River, and a farewell banquet was held that evening, where members rode the chairlift to the top of Crystal Mountain for dinner. The new officers were introduced, and the board thanked Jim DiGiovanni for his long-time service as chairman.
