Masonry Career Days are Coming Your Way

Words: Melissa AguiarThe second stage of MCAA's High School Recruitment Campaign is in full swing, with a record number of schools requesting career day visits from industry representatives this year. Earlier this fall, we sent newsletters to every high school guidance counselor enrolled in our program, once again reminding them of the career opportunities that masonry has to offer. We also encouraged them to sign up for a Masonry Career Day at their school. The response has been great?and we've already coordinated over 20 of these events!

These visits are an important way for our industry to educate students about our careers, give them chance to try masonry hands-on, and answer any of their questions or concerns. Having a knowledgeable representative from the industry to interact with these students one-on-one can make a significant impact on their perception of our careers and their desire to pursue our work.

Currently, we are looking for contractors or journeymen in the following areas for Career Days in the coming months:

  • West and north central Kentucky
  • South central Ohio
  • South central Washington

If you or someone at your company is interested in presenting a Masonry Career Day at a local school, or would be available to travel regionally for presentations, please contact Melissa Polivka at MCAA toll free at 800-536-2225.
