Harrold Melton Retires as Acme Brick President and CEO

Words: Artisan Tile company/Public/News/20050804100000.jpg" width="89" height="148" border="1" align="right" hspace="10" vspace="1"> Harrold E. Melton concluded a 40-year career with Acme Brick Company on Friday, April 1.

Prior to being named President & CEO in March 1999, Melton served Acme Brick Company in numerous capacities since 1958, including Regional Sales Manager, General Sales Manager and Acme's Vice President of Sales & Marketing. His vision, his leadership role in directing Acme's 10-state sales force, and his extensive experience with many aspects of the company's operation served Acme well as the company has grown to record-high sales levels for 13 consecutive years.

The Brick Industry Association (BIA) recently honored Melton by naming him as the recipient of the 2005 Outstanding Achievement Award at the BIA's annual Brick Show in Hollywood, Fla. This award is presented annually to an individual or company that has made a significant contribution to the betterment of the brick industry.

In 2003, Melton was proclaimed an Honorary Member in the Texas Society of Architects. Commenting on the award, John Nyfeler, TSA President, said, "He embodies that spirit of mutual support and cooperation that has founded the relationship between Acme Brick and the Texas Society of Architects for over 50 years."

Melton attended Louisiana State University, receiving his master's degree in Business Administration in 1967 and his Ph.D. in Finance in 1974.
