Regional Skills Challenge Contests Kick-Off the Competition Season

Words: Melissa AguiarAlthough the MCAA's International Masonry Skills Challenge at Masonry Showcase is over seven months away (March 30, 2006 in Las Vegas), Regional Masonry Skills Challenge contests are happening throughout the country to determine who will compete for the International prize.

Each of the MCAA's nine Regions and Canada are invited to submit three contestants for the contest at Masonry Showcase- their winners in Apprentice Skill Levels One, Two, and Three. Much is at stake in winning a Regional contest for these apprentices: a trip Las Vegas, the appearance in one of the MCAA's most high-profile events, and a chance to win cash and prizes!

If you have an apprentice at your company who excels at the trade, or know of a young man or woman who has a shot at winning this skilled competition, contact the MCAA Headquarters for more information on your local event. Also, attend your Regional Contest and see what the future of masonry in your area has to offer (dates and locations subject to change, contact MCAA for details):

Region A - October 8, Falls Church, Virginia
Region G - October 8, Phoenix, Arizona
Region H - October 29, Riverside, California
