The Mason Contractors Association of America will be introducing a certification program for the masonry industry's contractors. This certification program will help to ensure that your company maintains the highest level of quality construction. Certification will also give customers a better objective to select qualified contractors for their projects. You can get a jump on earning credit towards certification by attending MCAA's education seminars. Seminars include the new Masonry Quality Institute (MQI), Foreman Development, Basic Masonry Estimating or Masonry Wall Bracing Design Course.

Foreman Development Course provides information to key employees about developing the skills necessary to become an effective foreman. This two-day course will focus on communication, decision making, problem solving and motivating the crew. Course will be held November 9-10, 2006 in Denver, Colorado or February 21 and 22, 2007 in Orlando, Florida during the Masonry Showcase.

Basic Masonry Estimating will teach the basics or refresh your memory during this eight-hour course. The session will include a step-by-step approach to the estimating process and will include topics on bidding documents, computer solutions and more. Course will be held November 30, 2006 in Chicago and February 22, 2007 in Orlando, Florida during the Masonry Showcase.

MQI will highlight the policies and procedures of operating a company with the highest standards to help increase profitability. This is a two-day course that will introduce quality, team building and problem solving to improve expectations and profitability in your company. This course will launch during the Masonry Showcase 2007 in Orlando Florida, February 21 and 22.

The Masonry Wall Bracing Design Course will provide contractors the know-how to confidently design and construct bracings to meet the OSHA requirements for common masonry structures.
