"This November, Republicans sent a clear message to Congress — return to your conservative principles of limited government, fiscal responsibility and individual freedom. Today, the largest House caucus confirmed that important message did not fall on deaf ears by electing Jeb Hensarling (R-Texas) to chair the RSC.
"In the 1980's and 1990's, Republicans changed history when we stood by principles. When we deviate from those principles by pursuing raw power, we disillusion our supporters and turn others away with our disingenuousness and weakness.
"I have complete confidence that Jeb Hensarling will advance our conservative principles and help retake a majority in 2008," said Feeney.
The RSC is a group of more than 110 House Republicans organized for the purpose of advancing a conservative social and economic agenda in the House of Representatives. For more information, please visit: www.house.gov/pence/rsc/rsc_bio.shtml.
