2009 Legislative Conference Recap

The 2009 MCAA Legislative Conference was a huge success. With a total of about 15 members in attendance, attendees managed to attend over 40 appointments with our lawmakers and staff within a 15 hour time frame. Attendees were moving at a very fast pace through the 15 hour period and were making our presence known on Capitol Hill. Issues addressed and discussed included:

One goal of the conference was to reach out to blue dog democrats this year and find additional co-sponsors for bills related to our issues. Attendees received numerous commitments during their appointments.

The legislative committee is preparing for a very busy year ahead given the fast paced approach the new administration has taken on many issues.
