Bigge Crane Establishes East Coast Headquarters
The newest Bigge location will be over twelve acres
By Bigge Crane and Rigging Co.
Bigge Crane and Rigging is relocating its Richmond, Va., location to a complex more than twice the size of the current yard.
The newest Bigge location, still in Richmond, will span more than 12 acres, and will be the headquarters for all heavy haul transportation and crane and rigging operations on the Eastern seaboard.
Along with the new location, Bigge is dramatically increasing the size of its crane fleet. In addition to their current inventory of cranes, Bigge is adding more than twenty rough terrain cranes and about a dozen crawler cranes with maximum lift capacities from 100 to 440 tons. In addition, Bigge has hired additional mechanics, truck drivers and inside sales personnel to keep up with the increased demand for their services on the East Coast.
“Our current location in Richmond couldn’t keep up with our work load,” said Joe Nelms, VP of Sales and Marketing, “Adding to our fleet and moving to this new complex will help us satisfy the demand.”
In addition to expanding the Richmond office, Bigge has recently added sales staff to their Seattle location, as well as expanded into crane rental there. Further reinforcing their fleet in Houston, Bigge recently took delivery of several Link-Belt HC-278 truck cranes and a large crawler from the port of Galveston as Bigge expands into the Houston crane rental market.
