In memoriam: Robert Murray Parrish

Words: Lynn NashRobert Murray Parrish, often known as "Safety Bob" and a regular contributing writer for North Carolina Masonry News, passed away unexpectedly November 27, 2010. A preexisting heart condition is listed as the cause of death.

An Army veteran and former NC OSHA Inspector, he was retired from McGee Brothers Company and continued to serve the company as a safety consultant and company newsletter editor. Bob was 68 and lived in the Derita area of Charlotte.

Bob's ongoing and sincere concern for the safety of everyone in the masonry industry will be missed and will constitute an important legacy. His last column for the NCMCA quarterly newsletter appears in the December issue, due for distribution this week.

I know you will join me in expressing condolences to Bob's family and their friends.
