As much as you’d like your day to start after the sun is up and end before it goes down, it rarely happens. So for those early mornings when your crew kicks off work before daylight, and those days that extend into the moonlight, Masonry is reviewing several types of lighting for small and large jobsite projects. From handheld to free-standing, these lighting sources will allow you to work as long as you need to complete your masonry missions.

Hands-Free UV Light Source

Spectroline
Westbury, N.Y.

Hands-Free UV Light Source
The Spectroline EK-3000 EagleEye UV-A/White Light LED Inspection Kit (patents pending) features the palm-sized, cool-running EagleEye inspection lamp. It is engineered with two ultra-high-intensity UV-A (365nm) LEDs and a three-LED white light assembly. An adjustable strap allows the lamp to be worn on a hard hat or directly on the head for hands-free operation. A built-in fan keeps the lamp cool to maintain optimum UV-A intensity during prolonged inspections. Powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, it provides up to 45 minutes of continuous inspection between charges.

Cordless Fluorescent Area Light

DeWALT
Towson, Md.

Cordless Fluorescent Area Light
DeWALT’s 18V Cordless Fluorescent Area Light has built-in telescoping and 360° rotating hook that allows the unit to hang from two-inch materials and multiple locations. An over-molded lens cover provides increased durability on the jobsite, while the 13-watt fluorescent bulb provides bright area lighting. Other features include a twist-and- lock, tool-free lens cover that allows for quick and easy bulb change; a pre-heat circuit that helps eliminate blackening at the base of the bulb; the ability to run on the 18-volt battery (sold separately) system for an extended run time of up to 3.5 hours.

It is compatible with all 14.4- and 18-volt Li-Power Compact, Li-Power Plus and Li-Power Extreme battery packs.
