Hilti products honored for outstanding design

Numerous Hilti products were once again honored for their outstanding design with the red dot award: product design 2011. Hilti Chief Designer Stephan Niehaus also handed the rotating “Radius” trophy to this year’s red dot design team of the year.

A total of twelve Hilti products were honored by “red dot”. These included the PD5 laser range meter, the PS 38 Multidetector, the SF 14-A cordless drill driver, the TE 6-A36- AVR cordless rotary hammer and the TE 7-C rotary hammer.

The red dot award’s independent jury of experts assesses products from various categories in terms of, among others, degree of innovation, functionality, formal design quality, ergonomics, brand value and ecological compatibility.

During this year’s awards ceremony Hilti’s Chief Designer Stephan Niehaus handed over the rotating trophy for the red rot design team of the year to this year’s winner, the design team from Grohe. Stephan Niehaus and his team accepted the trophy for their outstanding design efforts last year. “This award is the most significant honor in the international design sector. We are very proud that Hilti was the first company in our industry to be so honored in 2010. Grohe is an innovative company with a strong design philosophy and it was a great honor for me to hand the “Radius” trophy to the Grohe design team”, said Stephan Niehaus.
