The Arizona Masonry Contractors Association (AMCA) and Arizona Masonry Guild (AMG) present the 2011 ARIZONA MASONRY & HARDSCAPE EXPO -- competitions, children's activities and exhibits will all be a part of this event, so mark your calendar for Saturday, November 5, 2011.

Competitions

Toughest Tenders
Prior to the Fastest Trowel on the Block competition, each team's tenders will prove to the crowd who is the fastest in the Toughest Tenders contest.

Fastest Trowel on the Block
The Mason Contractors Association of America (MCAA) Region G Fastest Trowel on the Block competition will showcase the best of Arizona's journeymen masons, alongside two of their favorite tenders. Each contestant's goal is to build the largest block wall using 8" x 8" x 16" CMU with only the mortar provided---in 20 minutes! Contestants must excel in both speed and craftsmanship.

Masonry Skills Challenge
The Masonry Skills Challenge showcases the training of first, second and third-year masonry apprentices and high school construction education students. In this competition, contestants are given a project drawing appropriate to their skill level and must layout and construct the project in three hours. The winner of this competition is then entered to compete in the MCAA National Skills Challenge at the World of Concrete/World of Masonry in Las Vegas, NV (January 2012).

Sponsors will be recognized on signage at the event, the event t-shirt and the AMCA website. Sponsorship levels are:
