The union meeting will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at the MCAA Convention in Las Vegas.
The MCAA is holding a union meeting for all MCAA members who are signatory to union contracts. The meeting will be held in conjunction with the MCAA convention at the World of Concrete/Masonry in Las Vegas on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 from 1:00-3:00 PM at the Las Vegas Convention Center in the North Hall, room N212.

The special guest speaker will be Thomas Vasiljevich, Esq. from Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C., from Chicago, Ill. He will be discussing the topic of Unfunded Liability — Withdrawl Liability. There will be handouts and letters to find out where your company stands right now.

In addition, we will be discussing lobbying efforts underway to change CBA — pensions. Open discussion will follow on the following topics:
  • Co-responsibility or shared responsibility by both labor and management
  • No increases in accrual rates until the fund reaches 80% of funding
  • CBA increases, a considerable portion will be allocated to buy down the liability and make the funds whole
These all are topics of discussion currently submitted by members and other ideas will be discussed as well from those in attendance.
