Is Your Building Project In Danger?

By

The Mason Contractors Association of America (MCAA) will present Forensic Engineering Case Studies - Is Your Building Project In Danger? on Wednesday, November 6, 2013, at 10:00 AM CST.

Life-threatening and costly failures of building systems due to poor design, construction, oversight, and/or maintenance have had a significant impact on facilities for many Owners. What about your buildings? A focused presentation of excerpts from several case studies by an expert forensic engineer spotlights problem indicators and areas worthy of special attention and inspection throughout building design, construction, and occupancy. At the end of the course, the participants will be able to:

  • Recognize most common building performance failure issues.
  • Understand the unique properties and characteristics associated with masonry, wood and concrete assemblies that often go unheeded resulting in problems.
  • Understand forensic testing and evaluation methods used to assess performance issues
  • Identify and use important standards related to design, construction and building performance requirements.
Mason contractors registered for Masonry Certification will receive 1.00 credits in the Codes and Standards discipline upon completion of this course.
