QA/QC Requirements for Masonry Construction webinar
Review the basics of quality masonry construction
The Mason Contractors Association of America (MCAA) will present QA/QC Requirements for Masonry Construction on Wednesday, September 24, 2014, at 10:00 AM CDT.
Construction of masonry structures involves the combination of manufactured or natural units (stone, clay brick, or CMU) with a job site produced binder (mortar) to create a variety of shapes and textures. The combination of pre- manufactured units and job-site produced binders also creates a great potential for construction problems. This presentation will review the basics of quality masonry construction, and quality control methods. Specific issues to be addressed include: hot/cold weather construction, materials testing, reinforcement placement, efflorescence control, control joint detailing, veneer details and flashing.
At the end of the course, the participants will:
- Be familiar with several forms of NDE
- Be able to understand the basic theory of the methods
- Be able to know what conditions the methods can be used to verify
- Be able to identify what types of results/information can and cannot be determined through NDE
