Weather Resistive Barriers and Underlayments webinar
Properly specify a weather resistive barrier material
The Mason Contractors Association of America (MCAA) will present Weather Resistive Barriers and Underlayments on Wednesday, October 29, 2014, at 10:00 AM CDT.
Asphalt saturated felts and papers are perhaps among the most commonly used, yet least understood, materials in the construction industry. This presentation is intended to instruct designers and installers on the differences between felts and papers, the industry standards that apply to each, how they are designated and classified, and Code requirements that pertain to their use as weather resistive barriers and roofing underlayment.
At the end of the course, the participants will:
- Be able to distinguish between asphalt saturated felts and papers
- Understand the industry standards and Code
- Have the knowledge to properly specify a weather resistive barrier material that is best suited for the local environment and application
- Be able to identify pros and cons of asphalt saturated felts and papers used as weather resistive barriers
