Masonry industry raises $15K to support Fallen Patriots Foundation
Kudos to the masonry industry for their support
MASONRY MADNESS™ Day at the 2015 World of Concrete & World of Masonry show is an event established to showcase the quality workmanship demonstrated by bricklayers, block masons, tenders and apprentices, but kudos to the masonry industry for stepping up to support the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation. During a day when masonry minded people are wondering who will be the new SPEC MIX BRICKLAYER 500® “World’s Best Bricklayer” or MCAA “Fastest Trowel on the Block,” hundreds of individuals contributed nearly $15,000 to the Foundation through an online auction as well as making personal and corporate donations.
Thanks to generous product donations made by SPEC MIX, Inc. and the sponsors of the SPEC MIX BRICKLAYER 500 event, industry members were able to buy masonry merchandise from leading brands such as Multiquip, Stabila, Marshalltown, iQ Power Tools, Gatorback, Jackson/Razor-Back and Blaklader at a discount, while funding the education of a military child in need.
The 4,000 plus spectators who packed the MASONRY MADNESS Day arena also joined the mission by making cash contributions at the SPEC MIX tent staffed by the Fallen Patriots’ own Eric Heineman and Karen Burris. Those donating $20 or more received commemorative event t-shirts and an iconic Stabila folding ruler.
This was the foundation’s first time taking part in MASONRY MADNESS Day and witnessing the excitement of a SPEC MIX BRICKLAYER 500 World Championship competition, which took Heineman, the Foundation’s Director of Strategic Partnerships, by total surprise: “Holy Cow...what an event! The videos on the website (www.smbl500.com) give only a glimpse of what that day is all about. We were so impressed on the entire production of the SPEC MIX BRICKLAYER 500...we can’t thank you enough!”
SPEC MIX, Inc. gives its sincere thanks to all the wonderful people and companies that supported the Children of Fallen Patriots fundraiser. Together the masonry industry raised greater awareness of the foundation and helped make a difference in the lives of many who lost loved ones. As well, many thanks to those who contributed the resources necessary for the success of MASONRY MADNESS Day. The commitment and hard work dedicated clearly unites and strengthens the masonry industry.
