Immigration Reform and I-9 Compliance for the Construction Employer webinar
Best-practices in I-9 compliance
The Mason Contractors Association of America (MCAA) will present Immigration Reform and I-9 Compliance for the Construction Employer on Wednesday, May 6, 2015, at 10:00 AM CDT.
Immigration enforcement has shifted from worksite raids to paper audit, but that makes it more expensive for more employers. This course covers best-practices in I-9 compliance; how to fix defective forms legally; how to set up a simple but workable, tickler system; how to conduct a self-audit before the government shows up; how to prepare for an ICE audit; and what to do after an audit.
Learning Objectives:
- Prepare and use the new I-9 form correctly and avoid obvious compliance errors
- Recognize and correct I-9 defects
- Conduct a self-audit of I-9 compliance
- Review whether or not to enroll in E-Verify and use it correctly
