Creating, Managing & Utilizing a Construction Schedule
Discipline: Ethics & Business Practices
A construction schedule is critical to a project’s success in terms of time, money, quality and safety. Analysis phase begins upon schedule completion, including: comprehending the intermingling of trades, determining who owns float, resource allocation, potential litigation, and how the schedule can affect both quality and safety. Correlation between the CPM and the Gantt chart will also be examined, demonstrating how to turn a CPM flowchart into actual calendar/workdays. Communication and documentation of construction schedules from both the general contractor and the subcontractor point of view will also be reviewed. A brief introduction to Building Information Modeling (BIM) and its effect on scheduling will be explored.
