In this module we will review a critical component of high performance design and construction is adequate planning for the efficient operation and maintenance of a building and its systems. Design strategies that address operations and maintenance (O&M) issues can result in reduced custodial costs and lower energy consumption. Exposure to physical and chemical hazards, toxins, odors, and potential asthma 'triggers' can be reduced or eliminated.
