Course Agenda
This 2-day course offers all masons the opportunity to develop and improve their people management skills. It is a different and unique course in which attendees will learn through participation and interaction with other foremen. It will be a combination of videos with actual case studies, role playing, and practical experience. Topics of instruction include:

  • Components of communication and the factors that interfere with its effectiveness
  • How to cope with typical masonry problems and get tasks accomplished by others
  • How motivation relates to the supervisor and to the crews
  • What the relationship is between decision making and problem solving
  • The importance of developing budgets from estimates
  • The importance of accurate reporting
  • How to actively plan safety in daily activities and eliminate hazard
  • The role and function of contract documents in influencing quality, time and cost
  • How to avoid disputes as well as resolve them

Certificate of Completion
Each student successfully completing the course will receive a certificate of completion. Only those students completing the full 20 hours of instruction are eligible for the certificate.

Registration Fees
MCAA Member First Attendee: $600.00, Each Additional Attendee: $550.00

Non-Member First Attendee: $750.00, Each Additional Attendee: $700.00

Admission Policy
Complete tuition for each attendee must be submitted before students will be admitted to class.

Refund Policy
Requests for refunds must be received in writing by MCAA no later than thirty days prior to the event.
