Trimble Receives ASTM Award Of Merit
The American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) International recently awarded Brian Trimble with its 2005 Award of Merit for his work on ASTM Committee C12 on Mortars and Grouts for Unit Masonry. This award is the highest Society award given by ASTM and is accompanied by the title of Fellow. Trimble was recognized for his outstanding chairmanship of ASTM Subcommittee C12.03 on Specifications for Mortars and for his contributions in serving as co-chair of the 2006 Joint Masonry Symposium Committee. ASTM recognized Trimble's significant contributions in the development of new standards and for his efforts in maintaining and updating these standards.
Trimble, who serves as the director of engineering services and architectural outreach for the Brick Industry Association, is a professional engineer and a graduate of Pennsylvania State University with a bachelor's degree in architectural engineering. He is the Mid-Atlantic region representative on the Construction Specification Institute's board of directors and is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Society of Landscape Architects and the Sustainable Buildings Council. He has also been a devoted member of The Masonry Society for a number of years, serving on several committees including the University Professors Masonry Workshop Steering Committee, which he chairs.
