The Mason Contractors Association of America (MCAA) will present Green Building with Stone on Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at 10:00 AM CDT.

This webinar will provide attendees with an overview of the history and reasons for using, as well as the difference between sourced and locally harvested stone. The many inherent green qualities of natural stone, industry capabilities relative to protecting the environment as well as the effect of technology advances on stone’s green factors will be reviewed. Industry best practices related to quarry selection and life-cycle, as well as construction best practices will be highlighted. The presentation will include numerous practical tips and case studies.

Learning Objectives

  1. Gain knowledge related to the reasons for using stone yesterday and today
  2. Identify the attributes that make natural stone a modern green building material
  3. Understand the Industry Sustainability Assessment Standard
  4. Explain industry and construction best practices for using natural stone on a sustainable project.
