BRS to begin work on historic Brown Palace Hotel

Installation and repairs to begin in the spring of 2013

By

Building Restoration Specialties, Inc. (BRS) was recently selected to complete repairs on the historic Brown Palace Hotel.

One of Denver's most elegant hotels and an enduring landmark, the Brown Palace has been open every day since it opened on Aug. 12, 1892. Unlike most historic hotels, The Brown Palace has been remodeled, refurbished, updated and redecorated on an ongoing basis without ever closing for renovations. And this project will be no exception.

The repair project is slated to last for three years, and all repairs will be conducted without interrupting business. BRS will be repairing stone on the exterior façade, replacing all stone window sills and modifying existing flashings where needed. BRS will begin carving stone this winter and will mobilize to begin the installation and repairs in the spring of 2013.

“This is a very exciting project for us,” says BRS president Rhonda Maas. “Our staff is thrilled at the opportunity to restore this great landmark. We're particularly gratified that the building owners recognize the importance of having these repairs completed by a company specializing in historic preservation, and that they've selected us as that company.”
