Background Check Pitfalls webinar

Are your background check practices legally compliant?

By

The Mason Contractors Association of America (MCAA) will present Background Check Pitfalls on Wednesday, November 13, 2013, at 10:00 AM CST.

Does your company use criminal or credit background checks as part of the hiring process? If so, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has its eye on you. The use of criminal convictions and arrest records may violate Title VII of the Civil Rights Act. Moreover, failing to get the proper release or give the proper notices may violate the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

This informative webinar will assist companies with auditing their background check practices for legal compliance. It will provide guidance on the recent focus agencies and courts are giving to the practice of using criminal and credit information as a tool for selecting applicants. This webinar will also assist managers with the decision of what information they can and should use to make their hiring decisions.
