By Mason Contractors Association of America
The House Energy and Commerce Committee voted to send H.R. 985, the Concrete Masonry Products Research, Education, and Promotion Act, to the House as a whole for consideration on July 29, 2015.
H.R. 985 would authorize the concrete masonry industry to pursue the creation of a commodity check-off initiative. Provided that concrete masonry producers in turn approves the check-off initiative, self-assessments would be used to raise revenue for needed generic programs and projects to advance the use of concrete masonry.
The legislation now moves forward for consideration by the House of Representatives.
