The Mason Contractors Association of America (MCAA) will present “DOL Regulations” on Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at 10:00 AM CDT.
Significant workplace regulations are being issued at a record pace throughout 2016. The U.S. Department of Labor will be issuing new regulations that will greatly expand the numbers of employees who will be entitled to overtime pay. It is also continuing to focus on independent contractor designations in the construction industry. The federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has prepared new regulations that may limit employer wellness programs and will require employers to include wage information on their EEO-1 reports. Federal contractors are seeing new regulations that will require them to, among other things, grant its employees sick leave. Finally, the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration is putting into effect regulations that change how employers have to report workplace accidents and injuries.
