LEAN Construction concepts focus on minimizing waste while maximizing efficiency. LEAN concepts can reduce cost, improve safety, and increase productivity. This course will examine the LEAN principles and how they can be applied to the construction industry. We will focus on value stream mapping, in particular, work flow processes. We will study ways to incorporate LEAN at all levels, starting with the design process. Finally, the 5S LEAN workplace concept will be introduced and we will discuss strategies for implementation.
