Reinforcement Placement and Masonry Grouting
Provider: Mason Contractors Association of America
Discipline: Codes & Standards
Credits: 1.00
Every structural masonry project includes the use of reinforcement and grout. Due to the high stresses everywhere, any weakness in the grouting or misplacement of the reinforcement could produce a failure.
The building code provides requirements for bar placement and allowable tolerances. While the requirements are identical to all reinforced masonry, the importance of constructing to a very high standard warrants a review of techniques.
This program will include:
- Planning and preparing for the work
- Code requirements for submittals and inspections
- Reinforcement placement and tolerance
- Types of grout
- Grouting techniques
