The height of foundation walls, soil type and backfill height, floor and footing connections, all affect the wall thickness and reinforcement requirements. Steel reinforcement will be developed for the various basement wall systems, and compared to the building code. Tables will be presented to assist in the design of basement walls for residential and light commercial for cast concrete, ICF, and masonry walls.
