This second session in the Surveying Basics series will explain the workings of automatic and digital levels used in surveying, especially concrete slabs on grade and form layout with special focus on common errors inherent to the system of determining elevations used by surveyors. Instrumental, personal, natural, random and systematic errors will be discussed along with proper procedures to avoid most common pitfalls in the field. NEW hands-on training scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday will offer participants opportunity to check calibration of levels and discuss procedures for field adjustments. NOTE: Attendees must register for Seminar MO02 before registering for the hands-on training—separate registration fees apply.
